For April fools day there was an advertising/product competition to come with a fake/absurd product and market it on April fools day. there were things like branded rain drops, Cheeteau; a perfume that smells like Cheetos etc. Below is the link to a video ad for the winner of the competition: Heliyum-its beer made with helium to make the bubbles so as you drink it it slowly changes your voice. _ not sure if it actually truly works [a.k.a maybe we should try it...]
NPR did an amazing prank on their "readers" this year as well:
http://gawker.com/npr-pulled-a-brilliant-april-fools-prank-on-people-who-1557745710
They posted an article titled "Why Doesn't America Read Anymore?" and upon clicking the article you would immediately see the "Congratulations, genuine readers, and happy April Fools' Day!" followed by an explanation of them trying to see just how many of their "readers" actually read their articles.
Gawker (link above) provides a good number of comments found around Facebook posted by people who (like NPR suspected) only read the title and decided to step upon their soapbox and preach in disagreement with NPR.
Quite an interesting result.
