Diminuendo
stoneware, rope, cans with patina
Beth Cavener employs clay animals to represent a range human emotions and experience. Diminuendo was expressed to be a self-portrait based off the artist's own experiences of navigating through the art world after having to take some time off. The figure tries to remain quiet and on the outskirts of the gallery, but is unable due to the hundreds of metal cans attached to its tail.
