Maurits Cornelius Escher (1898-1972) is a world renowned Dutch graphic artist known for his "impossible constructions" and mathematical lithographs, woodcuts and mezzotints, in which he explores different techniques to create an illusion of depth and space.
Although Escher's art is not perhaps funny in itself, the way that it is fools the eye and the way that the images create new images in a kind of art creating its own art kind of way, I find these images to be quite amusing and Escher's concepts to be funny.
