Artist Juliana Santacruz Herrera repairs the streets of Paris by filling potholes with colorful crocheted fabric. This a form of Guerilla Knitting/Yarn Bombing. I guess you could also literally call it 'street' art that uses the street as a canvas. These pieces are site specific visual interventions that add a cheerful, playfulness to otherwise drab urban areas in need of repair.
This is interesting to me because I am exploring using unwanted spaces for future pieces. I feel that this is a good example because it draws attention to areas that are seen as obnoxious or unimportant and here replaces it with something artistic. In my thoughts I wanted to use corner spaces or ceiling ledges in a gallery as opposed to floor and wall space. Now I can consider using topographical "Flaws" as a focal point.

I really enjoy this type of art. It really brightens your day and pleasantly surprises you. I've seen similar works of art that use Legos instead of yearn and they are really fun as well.
