I realized that not everyone got a chance to get a close look at the app, if at all. Just decided to leave this up here if you needed something to actually look at while critiquing.
The idea was to create a way to combine both art and engineering into one cohesive piece. Initially I had wanted to make an LED cube, which involves soldering LEDs together into a cube form, attaching it onto an Arduino (a microprocessor, basically a mini computer processor that gives intelligence to a circuit). I considered making it a form of art by either creating a unique way of playing Snake, pressing buttons attached to the circuit to let it travel in 3D instead of 2D. Other ideas included having arbitrary light patterns, possibly switching up every time a button were pressed.
With a lot of mess and realization about a week in, the LED cube just didn't seem to be as strong of an idea as it could be. From that I decided to make this app! Since I was wondering if the LED cube could be engineered into art, I wondered, isn't everything created in life engineered into art? This app is basically intended to show that although engineering and art are seen as a dichotomy, when applied together they make a most cohesive, imaginative product that makes technology and society move forward. It's also a great way to show that "just art" pieces takes a lot of effort that many people do not realize nor appreciate.
